Canadian Border Crossing Guide

Most visitors in this area with use one of two ports of entry:

Carway, Alberta / Port of Peigan, Montana

Open Year-Round

Chief Mountain, Alberta / Chief Mountain, Montana

Open June 1st thru October 31st
Hours: Daily from 7AM to 10PM MST
Chief Mountain Port (US Side): (406)732-5572
Carway Alberta Port (Canadian Side): (403)653-3009

US citizens are required to provide proof of citizenship upon request; A passport or birth certificate accompanied by voter registration, social security card or driver’s license is considered acceptable. Persons under 18 years traveling without their parents should have a letter of authorization from a parent or guardian to travel into Canada.
Pets must have recent certificates of vaccination from a veterinarian. Inquire at the front desk regarding restrictions on food items, firearms and defensive spray.
