Traveling from the South
On I-15, take the exit just past Wolf Creek, MT (Exit 228) and take Highway 287 north through Augusta and Choteau (pronounced “Show-toe”). Highway 287 becomes 89 North. Stay on this road to Browning. If you are driving an RV, see above note regarding easiest route to St. Mary. If not, proceed through Browning and you will see the large sign directing you north on 89 to St. Mary.
NOTE TO RVs: The straightest, least curvy route from Browning to St. Mary is Highway 464 also called Duck Lake Road. The entrance to this road is at the southern most stoplight in Browning and travels due north. (A major intersection) It is a well maintained, wide, straight road that travels north about 20 miles and meets Highway 89. Turn left and head south 8 miles to St. Mary. If you are towing or driving a long vehicle, this is the easiest route to St. Mary.
